Abstract movements are considered; co-current and counter-current flows.The present investigation also considers the effect of a swarm of bubbles on the continuous phase velocity distribution in a two-phase flow vertical column. The literature review revealed that the majority of published data is concerned with continuous phase Reynolds numbers higher than 4000.therefore, the present experimental apparatus is constructed in order to facilitate the study of bubbles movement in a continuous phase having Reynolds numbers lower than those previously reported. A laser technique incorporating phase/Doppler particle analyzer (p/DPA) was employed for determining the size of small bubble and its rising velocity.simultaneously.for large bubble size, aphotographing technique was used to obtain the bubble properties. |
