Abstract Faba bean is one of the most important legume crops from being cultivated in the arid and semi-arid regions for its seed yield. Through two years (2017-2018 and 2018-2019); the faba bean populations were prepared. Two experiments were carried out at Ismailia-Agriculture Research Station, Ismailia Governorate; Egypt during two successive winter seasons (2019-2020 and 2020-2021). The experiments were laid out in a randomized complete block design in a split plot arrangement. The main plots were three watering levels: 100, 75 and 50% of field capacity. Whereas, the sub plots were the sixty faba bean populations. Twelve Finnish populations were produced significantly more seed yield than the six Egyptian check varieties. The high heritability coupled with high genetic advance observed indicated the most of studied traits were, mainly, governed by additive gene action and are greatly influence for direct selection for genetic improvement by pedigree selection methods of heritable traits.
