Abstract

Programs aimed at educating nurses must include clinical training. Students may feel ‎stressed out because of the difficulties that come within clinical education. Resilience is the ‎capacity to rise above adversity and grow stronger as a result of it. Aim: This study aimed to ‎assess nursing students’ perception of stress and resilience during their clinical training. ‎Design‏:‏‎ To accomplish the study’s aim, a descriptive correlational design was implemented.‎‏ ‏Setting The study was conducted in Faculty of Nursing, Minia University, Egypt.‎‏ ‏Subjects‏:‏‎ ‎A random sample based on stratified sampling technique was selected from the number of ‎students in each of the four academic levels enrolled at Faculty of Nursing - Minia ‎University during the academic year 2022-2023 (n=1233). Data Collection Tools: Data ‎collected through the utilization of two tools: The Perceived Stress Scale and Nicholson ‎McBride Resilience Questionnaire (NMRQ). Results: (64.7%) of the studied nursing ‎students at the four academic levels have moderate level of perceived stress, and (57.8%) of ‎them have an “established level of resilience”. There was high statistically significant ‎negative correlation exists between the total level of stress and the total level of resilience. ‎Conclusion: Nearly two thirds of the studied nursing students at the four academic levels ‎have moderate level of total stress, and, more than half have an “established level of ‎resilience”. High statistically significant negative correlation exists between perceived ‎stress and resilience levels among the studied nursing students. Recommendations: Coping ‎mechanisms and stress management to enable nursing students to manage their scholastic ‎stress and anxieties, seminars must be offered.
