First: Thesis title,“The role of the General Administration of Awqaf (Endowments) and Properties of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students.”Second: summary of the study problem.Charitable endowment throughout Islamic history is considered one of the most important manifestations of social care in Islam, which played a prominent role in various aspects of human life. Although endowment was known to human societies since ancient times - especially endowments for worship in previous religions - the major qualitative leap in charitable endowment came from the first Islamic society in Medina, where its purposes and goals diversified and its transfer from the religious level to the social level took place (within the framework of the comprehensiveness).With the increasing interest of foreign students to study at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif from Arab and Islamic countries and all over the world, and providing them with social security, cultural and economic services, the idea of establishing the General Administration of Al-Azhar Properties and Endowments is to provide social, economic, cultural, and educational services to foreign students. It plays an important role as a recipient and donor at the same time, receiving donations and endowments from rich members of society, then distribute it among poor foreign students.Thirdly - The theoretical orientations of the study:• The theories that can be utilized: (Role theory, Social interaction theory, Communication theory, Social pattern theory, Social contract theory)• The models that can be utilized: (Preventive model, Developmental model, Goal attainment model, Modern functional model, Therapeutic model, Max Weber’s theoretical model, Radical model, Goal-based model, Goal-free model, Input-output model, Michel Austin’s model, Process model(Fourth: Study Questions:1-What are the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments in the Grand Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar?2-What is the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?3-What are the obstacles facing the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?4-What are the proposals for the effectiveness of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar services in achieving social security for foreign students?5-What are the axes of the proposed future vision to activate the role of the services of the General Department of Endowments and Properties of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?Fifth: The importance of the study:1- Foreign students are among the target groups to benefit from the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar.2- The Egyptian state is responsible for foreign students as one of the marginalized groups.3- The foreign student sector represents a source of renewal and cultural change, which is of great importance in the development of society and the nation.4- Al-Azhar Al-Sharif is concerned with providing economic, social and health services to foreign students.5- The specialization of the researcher contributes to keeping pace with the changing needs and problems of foreign students at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.Sixth: Study Objectives:1-Determining the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments affiliated to the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.2-Determining the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students.3-Determining the obstacles facing the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students.4-Determining proposals for activating the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students.5-Achieving a proposed future vision to activate the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students.Seventh: Concepts of the study:(the concept of role, the concept of social services, the concept of charitable endowment, the concept of social security, the concept of foreign students).Eighth: Systematic procedures.1 - Type of study: This study belongs to the type of descriptive studies.2- Research methodology: The study relied on the use of the sample social survey method.3- Inspection plan:(a) Inspection Unit: the foreign student benefiting from the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.(B) Sampling frame: foreign students studying at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif for the academic year 2022/2023 AD, and their number reached (53,441) individuals.(C) Sample type and size: It represents the type of sample in the simple random sample (381). 4- Fields of study:(a) Spatial field: It represents the spatial field of study in the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.(B) The human sphere: the social survey of the sample of foreign students, the number of which is (381) individuals, the comprehensive social survey of workers in the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar, the number of which is (36) individuals.(c) Time range: Data collection period from 1/11/2022 AD to 12/29/2022 AD.(5) Study tools: a questionnaire form for foreign students.Ninth: The most important findings of the study.•The study resulted a set of findings that answer the questions that I previously identified and that are consistent with the objectives of the study, and they are as follows:(1) The answer to the first question of the study: “What are the services provided by the General Administration of Properties and Endowments in the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif?”:•The findings of the study concluded that the level of services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments in the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif as determined by foreign students reached (2.39), which is a high level.• The study also concluded that the level of services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments in the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, as determined by the employees, reached (2.6), which is a high level.(2) The answer to the second question of the study: “What is the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?”:•The findings of the study concluded that the level of the role of Al-Azhar General Administration of Properties and Endowments services in achieving social security for foreign students as determined by foreign students was (2.29), which is an average level.•The findings of the study also concluded that the level of the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students, as determined by the employees, reached (2.35), which is a high level.(3) The answer to the third question of the study: “What are the obstacles facing the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?”:•The results of the study concluded that the level of obstacles facing the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students as determined by foreign students reached (2.53), which is a high level.•The study resulted that the level of obstacles facing the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students as determined by the workers reached (2.12), which is an average level.(4)The answer to the fourth question of the study: “What are the proposals to activate the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students?”:•The findings of the study concluded that the level of proposals to activate the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students as determined by foreign students reached (2.67), which is a high level.•The study resulted that the level of proposals to activate the role of the services of the General Administration of Properties and Endowments of Al-Azhar in achieving social security for foreign students as determined by the workers reached (2.5), which is a high level.
