Abstract The current study aimed at investigating the effect of using web-quests on developing the first secondary students’ oral fluency. Participants of the study were 35 secondary stage students. They were randomly nominated from Ehnassia Secondary school for Girls, Beni suef Governorate. Instruments of the study included a pre-posttest for assessing the students’ oral performance and a rubric for assessing their performance. A list of oral fluency components was prepared according to the students’ linguistic requirements. A programme was designed to train the treatment group and develop their oral fluency using web quest in a social civic education context. Results revealed the positive effect of the programme on developing the first year secondary stage students’ oral fluency. The group members performed much better on the post-test in the overall oral fluency components than the pre-test. Key words: Web-Quest, Oral Fluency, Civic Education. |
