The study aimed to identify the ethical and professional values of slow journalism on websites and their relationship to the quality of journalistic content among journalists, and to identify the concept of careful journalism as a term in the field of media and communication. And to what extent are the values of slow journalism applied on websites from the point of view of journalists? And monitoring the reasons why journalists on websites pay attention to breaking news rather than long-form narrative reports and stories. And revealing the role of the media gatekeeper theory in enhancing the application of the values of slow journalism on websites. The Big Five personality model and its relationship to the values of slow journalism. The study belongs to descriptive studies, and relied on a survey approach for a sample of journalists on websites, as an organized scientific effort that contributes to obtaining information about the values of slow journalism. The researcher applied a questionnaire to a sample of journalists on national and private Egyptian news sites. The study was applied to a random sample of 205 journalists, ninety-four of whom belonged to the national sites: (Al-Ahram - Al-Jumhuriya - Akhbar Al-Youm - Rose Al-Youssef), and one hundred and one Ten belong to private websites: (Al-Masry Al-Youm - Al-Youm Al-Sabea - Al-Wafd - Al-Watan - Masrawy - Cairo 24 - Veto - Al-Shorouk - Al-Bawaba News - Frankly News). The following table shows the distribution of the sample items on the websites. It took 46 days to apply the form to journalists working on national and private websites in the period from May 5 to June 20, 2023. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: Journalists do not apply the values of slow journalism on their websites for several reasons, some of which are due to the editorial policy, such as the absence of funding and material and moral encouragement according to the websites they work on, and the other is due to the absence of moral and professional values represented by the competencies and cadres capable of applying this type of journalism. The researcher did not find any differences between institutions and websites in confronting fast news and adhering to careful journalism. This means that they agree on the importance of these mechanisms as they are professional standards that must be adhered to. The study agreed with previous studies in introducing the concept of slow journalism and paying attention to the necessity of applying the ethical and professional values of slow journalism on websites in order to gain a comprehensive and accurate understanding of current events and to increase cultural awareness among readers. Al-Ahram portal came in first place out of the total choices of journalists in the study sample, while Al-Masry Al-Youm portal came in second place, followed by Masrawy in third place, then Akhbar Al-Youm portal in fourth place out of the total choices of journalists in the study sample. The extent to which the values of slow journalism are applied on Egyptian electronic websites was ( To some extent) with a percentage of (62.4%) in the first place, while the alternative (no) came with a percentage of (25.4%) in the second place, then the alternative (yes) with a percentage of (12.2%) in the third place. The value of (credibility) topped the first place with an arithmetic average of (2.89) in terms of the interest of websites in the values of slow journalism from the point of view of journalists. The value of (accuracy) came in second place with a arithmetic average of (2.84), then (depth) came in third place with a arithmetic average of (2.78). The value of (objectivity) came in fourth place with an arithmetic average of (2.73).
