Abstract
The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of pigtail catheter and the conventional intercostal chest tube in treatment of large or tension SSP to improve patient’s tolerability and minimize the damage associating the large bore chest tube as well as the intubation days, hospital stay and hence total expense.
This study was carried out at Chest Department, Zagazig University Hospitals in 6 months period from January 2014 to June 2014. The study protocol was approved by Chest Department, Faculty of Medicine and The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Zagazig University, on 10/12/2014.
