If consciousness is an integral part of complex brain processes, then it is absurd to ask most of these questions. According to this view (sometimes called functionalism), there is no point in asking why consciousness evolved; Because any being that has evolved to have intelligence, sensory perception, memory, and feelings is also necessarily conscious, there is also no point in talking about “consciousness itself” or “indescribable subjective experiences.” Because nothing external exists apart from processes and capabilities.Consciousness One approach to consciousness that has a venerable tradition behind it, but which has recently regained a modest degree of popularity, is what we might call self-representation theory. According to this view, mental states are conscious when they represent their own occurrence (in the right way). Thus my conscious experience For the blue sky represents both the sky itself and by virtue of representing itself it is a conscious experience. If only we humans changed the philosophy of mind, it would become easier and smoother. The common philosophical game is to “naturalize reason” by “reducing it to conditions in which it can be realized and which we can impartially and willingly explain in biological terms.” Or neurophysiology or physics would become a plausible phenomenon, but all philosophers of mind as well as those involved in brain science had to acknowledge that we are all completely confused by consciousness. No scientist has yet begun to understand how consciousness has evolved, for example, or how this consciousness emerges or emerges, and how it is maintained in certain types of brain processes to the exclusion of other processes.
