Abstract

Modern civil engineering is a hard task. A structural designer must consider economic, environmental, and aesthetic factors in addition to ensuring that the structure being built is safe for usage. PGCWs are often used as bridge girders due to their many benefits. These girders are made of corrugated web plates and flat flange plates that are continuously welded together. Corrugations in webs strengthen stability against buckling and allow the fabrication of very cost-effective designs. The construction of bridges utilizes girders with tapered plates and corrugated webs to decrease the amount of steel that is utilised. The ratio of web thickness to corrugation depth, the angle of inclination of the compression flange, the aspect of the web panel, and the thickness of the web all affect how these girders behave in shear The outcomes are then used to improve the current simply supported tapered plate girder with zigzag corrugated web design method (TPGZCWs).
