Abstract

We spend the majority of our time at work. Accordingly, creating an environment that
makes employees satisfied is critical. How the geometric form of office space affects
employees’ satisfaction and consequently productivity is a fundamental question of
this study. The visual and social connectivity of employees in the workplace are crucial
issues that impact the manner in which all members of a company interact with each
other and with the outside world. This study postulates that to better appreciate the
geometric form of space, it is necessary to learn more about how employees work in
their office settings and how the form of space influences their visual and social
connectivity. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the
geometric forms of interior space and employee satisfaction in the office workplace
setting to increase employees’ productivity by enhancing visual and social connectivity
within the space. To accomplish this, the study employs a variety of research methods,
a qualitative approach in which questionnaire and interview are administered to learn
about employees’ perceptions of visual and social connectivity, and quantitative data
approach where measurements derived from Space Syntax are used to measure visual
connectivity in the office space.
