Abstract This thesis deals with the subject of the linguistic analysis of a set of speeches made by Spanish-speaking presidents in periods and different historical circumstances that are: Captain General Augusto Pinochet Ugarte (Chile), Patricio Aylwin Azócar (Chile), Lieutenant General Jorge Rafael Videla (Argentina), Raúl Ricardo Alfonsín (Argentina) and, finally, Adolfo Suárez González (Spain). This study consists of an introduction, 3 chapters, a conclusion and a bibliography and aims to study the language used by the politicians at different times and places through speeches pre-recorded and others broadcast live in the presence of an audience. |
