Abstract

The aim of current study was to Assessment Performance of Primary School students Regarding Oral Hygiene and Dental Caries.
The main finding of present study was:
• Approximately two third (61.2%) of the mean age among pupils was less than ten years, and slightly more than half of the issues were females (54.0%). the majority (92.4%) of issues are from rural areas. majority of fathers (86.8%) are working. slightly more than half 57.3% of pupils their family consists of (4 to 5) person, slightly more than half 54.5% of pupils have sufficient income.
• Most (86.3%) of study pupils have unsatisfactory knowledge scores, but 13.7 of pupils have satisfactory knowledge scores.
• More than three-quarters (84.7%) of study pupils have poor practice scores, but 15.3 of pupils have good practice scores.
• About a fifth (19%) of study pupils has positive attitudes scores, but 81% of pupils have negative attitudes scores.
• Knowledge scores and age, or residence while there is a statistically significant difference between overall knowledge scores and sex.
• There is a statistically significant difference between overall practice scores and sex, and residence (p value=03), but there is no statistically significant difference between practices and age (P value -0.8).
• A highly statistically significant difference between overall attitudes and residence ( p value=.001), but there is no statistically significant difference between attitudes with age and sex.
• There are no statistically significant differences in overall knowledge score and overall practices at ( P value=0.1).
• There are statistically significant differences in overall knowledge score and overall attitudes scores, at (P value=0.04).
