Abstract

This thesis aims to discuss the main characteristics of MENA{u2019}s capital inflows volatility. Also, it aims at examining the effect of institutional quality and information availability on the capital inflows volatility in MENA countries over the period (1996-2017).The thesis adds to relatively limited literature regarding the determinants of capital inflows volatility. Also, it is the first study that investigates the effect of institutional quality and information availability on capital inflows volatility in the MENA region. Based on ICRG (International country Risk Guide) and globalization indices in MENA countries this thesis used an econometric panel modelling of Random Effect model with Driscoll-Kraay robust standard error for examining the relationship between capital inflows volatility, and institutional quality and information availability. It finds that both institutional quality and information availability are negatively related to total capital inflows volatility in MENA region
