المستخلص Research tools and materials: 1- A list of some generating information skills to be developed for the first year preparatory students. 2- A list of some self-questioning skills to be developed for the first year preparatory students. 3- The student’s book for two units: (climate and natural vegetation and aspects of the ancient Egyptian civilization) according to the meaning building strategy (K-W-L-H). 4- The teacher’s guide for two units :(climate and natural vegetation and the aspects of the ancient Egyptian civilization) according to the meaning building strategy. 5- A workbook that contains a set of activities that develops the generating information skills and self-questioning. 6- A test for generating information skills. 7- A test for self-questioning. 8- A note card for self-questioning skills. The findings of the research indicate to the effectiveness of the meaning building strategy to develop the skills of generating information and self-question for the first year preparatory students in the subject of social studies. In light of these findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions. |
