Abstract

The present study concerns with studying the structural architecture of the area surrounding St. Paul Monastery through the surface investigations and structural analysis. St. Paul area is located on the northwestern onshore part of the Gulf of Suez (GOS) incorporated with the northern accommodation zone and the northern part of the central dip province. The mapped area extends between latitudes 29° 00ʼN - 28° 30ʼN and longitudes 32° 30ʼE - 33° 00ʼE. It is delineated from north by Wadi Araba and from south by Wadi El-Dakhl. Geomorphologically, this area is located in the heart of the SGP and bordered in the east by the narrow low-lying coastal plain of the GOS. The main drainage systems flow towards the GOS in the east.
