Abstract This study was carried out on one hundred and forty Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) at the Department of Husbandry and Animal Wealth Development, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Sadat City, at the period from January, 2014 till January, 2015. It was to investigate that: 1. Effect of different feeding rates on behavior and growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). 2. Behavioral adaptation of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) to food restriction regime. 3. Effect of Moringa oleifera leaves supplementation on behavior and growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Experiment (I): Effect of different feeding rates on behavior and growth performance of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus): In this experiment sixty fish were randomly sampled and divided into three groups (10 fish per aquarium) with two replicates per treatment. The first, second and third groups fed on 3.4%, 3.6% and 3.8% of fish body weight, respectively. The experiment lasted for 10 weeks and all groups were fed on commercial diet. Additionally, fish body weights were measured every two weeks and adjusted the amount of food according the new weight. |
