Abstract

This research aims to study the morphological, physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics, in addition to recognize the origin and uniformity of materials for some soils and water resources in some southern Egypt areas for agricultural purposes, that the area represented Alhnobi the southwestern part of the Toshka area, as well as Classification and evaluation Quantitative of these soils, Moreover, study the suitability of these soils for growing certain major agricultural crops was achieved. This work could be present important information about the potential land resources for proper sustainable agriculture in this area.
 Toshka area lies between longitudes 30° 30’ and 32° 00’ to the east and latitudes 22° 30’ and 23° 30’ in the north and away from the Aswan distance of 270 km southwest of Aswan, west and south-west of the High Dam Lake.
 The study area is located in the southern part of Western desert in Egypt between longitudes 31° 00’ 07” and 31° 15’ 25” east and latitudes 22° 33’ 24” and 22° 51’ 46” in the north, east and west through the Toshka - El Owinat - Darb El-Arabian. North and South branch 4 within the reins sub (3.4) and that starting from kilometer (75) southwest Toshka Even kilometer (135) southwest Toshka on the road Toshka - El Owinat - Darb El-Arabian, south-west of the High Dam Lake, and the area under the study covers an area of (196 148) Feddands.
 I have been using satellite US Land Sat Photos (TM) to reach the map Vezaogerafah floor of the area by analyzing and interpreting aerial photographs of modern (2013) scale (1: 100,000), (1: 50,000), and the study of both maps geomorphological and geological areas and that of through the use of remote sensing system and organs of the (GIS), has been identified three tracks, as well as the number choice thirty one profiles of the ground profiles, and the collection of ten surface samples HB), low-lying areas (DPR), and domes or bottle (DO) and occupies an area estimated at (98080 Feddan) as a percentage 50.00%.
2 - Hills isolated (Residual Hills) and formed the newbie sandstone medium to thick graininess (Sabaya formation.), include four zones are back tilt areas (BS), mile foot (FS), and areas of low (DPR), and domes or bottle (DO)) and occupies an area of (16228 Fadden) as a percentage 8.28%.
3. Hills isolated (Residual Hills) and formed the (Gneiss and magmatic gneiss) include six areas are Alqqm or highland areas (Top), BOTTLE areas or medium heights (Summit), back or reverse the tendency (BS), and areas of simple or mile foot tilt (FS ), and depressions or low-lying areas (DPR) and domes or bottle (DO) and occupies an area of (52 479 Fadden) percentage .26.75%.
4. Tracked layers of sand (Sand Sheet Sierras) and this configuration is a sandy cover multiple layers of sand (Sand sheet), and include four areas are low plains areas (LB), and medium Plains (MB), and the High Plains (HB), and domes or bottle (DO) and occupies an area of (29361 Fadden) percentage 14.97%.
 Site examination of studied profiles reveals that the soils have almost flat, nearly level to gently sloping topography. The elevation of the area is between 194 to 256 m above sea level. Soil surface and some layers of some sites have common fine to coarse fragments and coarse gravels. The soils are moderately deep to deep with well drainage status. The soils have mainly sandy texture. The main structure is weak fine granular to medium sub angular blocky. Most of the soils are virgin without or with scanty vegetation and some of them have perennial field crops land-use with irrigated cultivation. The consistence is soft to hard when dry and friable when moist. The main hue notation of the soils has reddish color mainly between 2.5YR to 10YR.
