Abstract

AB The study area includes EL-Qaa plain -including El-Tur city- and north Esh -Elmalaha area, northeast of the Eastern Desert. The main aim of our work is summarized in the importance of half graben structures that occurred with the accommodation zone. and to study the presences of the main basins in El-Qaa plain area . from the study of structure lineaments and the three factors: azimuth diagram, density, and frequency of them for unit area, we can estimate that: Aqaba trend prevails at the Eastern Desert part on the other hand , the Suez Gulf trend and Aqaba trend are the major trends in the southwestern Sinai. Color density and color frequency maps give indications that the basement rocks are mostly granetic rocks and affected by the accomodation zone, Suez Gulf trend, and Aqaba trend. In addition to the structural analysis that made for the basement surrounding the study area, the land magnetic surveying and its interpretation estimated that, The accommodation zone of the studying area is Morgan Accommodation Zone (MAZ) which giving NE-SW direction. from the GMSYS model the throw of MAZ in South Sinai is between 3290 m
towards SE directions near the Suez Gulf and 1510 m away from the Suez Gulf. The MAZ throw gives maximum throw of 990 m towards the SE direction. The major trend affected the study area is the Suez Gulf trend, on other hand, the Aqaba Gulf trend came as a second major trend. Euler’s 3D deconvolution solutions gave four major basins two of them at Sinai and the other at Eastern Desert as mentioned before. Although the advantages of located Euler’s 3D deconvolution over the Standard Euler’s 3D deconvolution, the standard Euler’s 3D deconvolution gave us the satisfied solution for our purpose. Regional and residual separation showed two main basins in El-Qaa Plain area, one of them located at the north of El-Tur city, the other at the south of the city. Scissors motion for the accommodation zone is confirmed by the residual separations of the gravity data; hence the second main basin is tilted towards the Gulf of Suez. The major trends of the subsurface structures are NW-SE and NE-SW directions, which are compatible with the trends of Gulf of Suez and El-Aqaba Gulf. from applying the GMSYS modeling program, two main basin were defined, one of them is subdivided to two minor basins, the deepest one is towards the mountains north of El-Tur city, while the sallower one towards the
beach. The second main basin now is shown to be completely opened towards the Gulf of Suez. from 3D Euler deconvolution, the located 3D Euler solutions giving that, most of the gravity sources came from depths between 3500 to 4000 m. Access mass is calculated for the first main basin by using the Gauss`s theorem to be - 1.13×1016 kg.
