Abstract remains a difficult challenge for clinicians. It is well accepted that signs and symptoms are non-specific. Several techniques were used for diagnosis of cases with suspected DVT, e.g. duplex scanning and Doppler ultrasonography. Contrast venography, in spite of being expensive and hazardous, still the standard method for diagnosis of DVT. Recently, blood tests had come to the focus of light as valuable tools in diagnosis of DVT. Being simple and non-invasive, they can be applied and repeated safely without any limitations. The aim of this work was to evaluate the value of PF1.2 TAT complex and D-dimer in diagnosis of DVT. In the presenting study 30 patients with DVT diagnosed by Doppler ultrasonography as a reference method were included. The study included, as well, 25 normal healthy subjects as control. All these were subjected to assay of PF1.2,TAT and D-dimer in their plasma. |
