Abstract ost modem weapon systems and aircrafts depend, in part, on the Global Positioning System (GPS) for navigation. This reliance on GPS navigation dictates that it is important to study how to implement a GPS jammer to reduce the effect of these modem weapon systems which rely on GPS. The GPS system has advantages over the narrow-band navigation systems since GPS signals are spread-spectrum signals and receiver design .. techniques can eliminate most of the interference signals. This thesis provides studying of GPS satellite signal structure. It also provides calculations to know the received satellite signal power. In addition this thesis investigates GPS satellites codes and then generates them. The thesis introduces many steps that were followed for implementing GPS jammer. First, frequency synthesizer was used to generate Ll frequency. Second, a binary phase shift keying modulator (BPSK) was designed and implemented to modulate this carrier by using the generated satellite codes (coarse acquisition codes).GPS jammer was implemented, then many experiments were performed for testing its effect of jamming in different scenarios on different kinds of GPS receivers. |
