Abstract The present study was conducted to assessthe dental caries intensity in the first permenent molars and deciduous molars status and oral hygiene . The sample comprised 1500 children aged 7-10 years of both sexes, who were primary schools pupils in alexandria governonate in 1993/94. The children were selected randomly from the six districts of alexandria , and they were subjected to dental examination , carried out in the schools under natural light and available facilities using the methods and criteria described by the World Health Organization , 1987. Concerning the first permenent molars : the present study has shown that , majority of the examined children (94.6%)had caries- free first permenent molars with no significant differences in caries prevalence between males and females . |
