Abstract

Coronary artery disease is considered as one of the most dangerous disease nowadays, as it is a common cause of death specially in people who have a sedentary life. Electrolyte disturbances specially hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia were known to be a common findings in patients with coronary artery disease (myocardial infarction and ischaemia), these findings are common in patients on prior diuretics therapy. These electrolyte disturbances appear to be of importance for arrhythmias and prognosis.
It is also possible that patients with coronary artery disease could have an impaired parathyroid function.
