Abstract
Successful management of status asthmaticus requires an expecpectant aggressive approach to the attack, as well as a careful management program to maintain remissions. The physician must be able to assess the severity of the attack provide rapid aggressive care. Failures are usually due patient or physician error, or both. Once inside the intensive care, failure is mainly the responsibility of the physician. Fully conscious and cooperative patients were given a chance of inhalational therapy. With the onset of exhaustion, only logical recourse was to relieve the patient of the work of respiration. Life was maintained on the ventilator 1 antibiotics, bronchodilators and steroids overcome the lay obstruction.
