Abstract The Aim Of This Work Is To Shed Some Light On The Behavior Of Pink Bollworm Larvae Inside Green And Dry Bolls Attached To Cotton Sticks Or Buried In The Soil. The Oviposition Sites, Vertical Distribution Of Larvae On Cotton Plants And The Relationship Between Boll Age And Infestation Are Also Studied. The Eggs Of Pectinophers Gossypiella Are Found On Almost All Parts Of The Cotton Plant. The Infestation By First Stage Larvae Is Not Uniform And Varies At Different Levels Of The Cotton Plant. 21-28 Days Old Bolls Are The Most Suitable Bolls For Infestation. The Larvae Are Of Cannibalistic Nature. The Percentage Of Dead Larvae Due To Weather Factors Is Between 2 To 3 Times That Of Parasited Ones. |
