Abstract The aim of The present work is to study through research and introduction of suitable technology, the means for improvement of the local practices for the highest yield and quality during the export season in winter, spring and early summer (November to April or May). Experiments include growing rase plants under plastic and in the open field. The plastic protection would be from cold nights in winter and spring and from high radiant sun energy in spring and early summer. Planting density used is over 20,000 plants / feddan which is about two and a half times the usual local practice. The most effective factors in cut flower yield and quality of rases, namely pruning and nutrition are also studied. Three levels of each are tried in separate experiment, higher pruning and suitable nutrient requirements are intended for demonstration of the maximum production of saleable rose flowers on strong and taller plants. |
