Abstract This work aims at studying to what extent could ancymidol or CCC be efficient for both cotton and maize to tolerate if grown at soil moisture levels other than the optimal one. It aims. As well to find out which aspect of metabolism could be regarded to be comparatively much more responsible for the changes in drought tolerance in response to the growth substances. Two experiments with the same scheme were carried out in the farm of botany Laboratory National Research Centre Cairo in 1979 and 1980 on cotton (cossypium barbadense cv. Giza 69). Besides one experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of agriculture Zagazig University Zagazig on maize (zea-mays l. Cv.amerkani badri). The studies on cotton and maize are reported in detail also results obtained and their discussion are given. |
