Abstract
This study was conducted on 30 patients admitted to the cardiothoracic surgery department ,Tanta university hospitals .with lung cacncer, and the patients were subjected-cto intraoperative pleural lavage after thoracotomy and before any manipulation or resection of the mass,then pleural lavage was sent for cytological examination.The aim of this study is to detect factors that can precipitate and predict pleural penetration and give positive pleural lavage cytology.
