Abstract This study was carried out in the blood bank arid clinical pathology department, faculty of medicine, Benha University and was concerned with surveying all blood doners-whc are attending the blood bank to donate their blood-far HBsAg, HJ V (AIDS) and syphilis, It includcd 500 volunteers, of both sexes whose age ranged from 20 to 42 years,Blood samples were collected, from which sera- were separated and IIBsAg and HIV were tested for by the seB. methad Infection syphllls was screened by a nontrepnnemal LtestResults showed thai, HRV infection (or HBsAg positive casei••)represented 3.ft % of total cases examined (3.9 % fu•.males and 3.47 % forfemales).
