Abstract
Bronchial asthma is considered one of the major worldwide problems that has received increased attention in recent In this work some epidemiological aspects of childhood were studied in El-Fayoum City among school children from 6-12 years. Results of the study revealed that asthma prevalence was being higher in males (3.38%) than in females (2.78%), the prevalence was at family size 3 persons (4.21%) and the (prevalence was at family size more than 7 persons (1.96%). In of illiterate fathers and mothers the prevalence was higher and 3.74% respectively) than those of graduate fathers and (1.84% and 2.77% respectively). In children with positive history of other allergic disease the of asthma was (1.92%) which is significantly higher that with negative history (1.5%). Children with positive history of allergic disease had significantly higher than those with negative family history.
