Abstract Tuberculosis remains the most important infectious disease in the world in terms of morbidity, mortality, and economic impact. luberculosis is particularly (liii icult to diagnose in children because of the lack of characteristic symptoms n many children as compared to the adults and poor yield on standard laboratory tests. Because of the (liagnostic limitations surrounding tuberculosis in children, a presumptive (.liagnosis is usually made based on a combination of clinical and epidemiological informations. So, there is a need for development of rapid and efficient methods for diagnosis of tuberculosis in children. So, this work was done to study the cI inico epidemiological features of tuberculosis in children and to evaluate the recent and rapi(l diagnostic irocedures for early detection of inycobacteri al tuberculosis.
