Abstract

In this work a detailed study on preparation, characterization of different samples of antimonic acid and the conditions in which the prepared matrices can make the maximum removal for the heavy metal from industrial liquid waste was carried out. In this concern, we prepared three different samples of antimonic acid. The three prepared samples are characterized by using different tools such as; X-ray diffractometry, thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-ray fluorescence, Infrared spectrometry and surface area. The prepared materials are crystalline, chemically and thermally stable. The capacity of the prepared matrices are measured and the capacity of sample(II) is higher than sample(I) and sample(III). The distribution coefficient values obtained for P b^ 2+ C d^ 2+ and Z n^ 2+ with the prepared ion exchanger, indicated that, the reaction is non ideal ion exchange and the selectivity sequence of the investigated metal ions is P b^ 2+ >Cd^ 2+ >7n^ 2+ It was found that, the distribution coefficient (Ka) increases with increasing the pH of solutions. In this work, the kinetic studies and thermodynamic parameters were investigated under particle diffusion mechanism.
