Abstract The present thesis includes a study of the spectral behaviour of sone new azo-coupounds containing the quinoline nucleus. The study is carried out i n organic solvents of different polarities. The dyeing properties of these azo-conpounds are investigated and ligh* fastness neasurei;lents are also perf owed. The investigation is carried out using absorption spectrophotonetry i n the ultraviolet and visible regions in nedia of different polarities. The infrared spectra are a l s o utilised in the study of the structural correlations f o r these dyes. I - In the first chapter, a general survey of the previous work dealing with the spectra of azoco~pounds is given, 2- Chapter I1 coaprises the experuental details for the prepwation of the conpounds under investigation, their dyeing properties are as well stxdied. The dyes were found to dye Nylon 6 fibres with b r i l l i a n t shades. 3- Chapter 111, deals with the results and discussion, it couprises three parts. In the f i r s t part, the spectra of the prepared asodyes are studied in organic. |
