Abstract
Luteal phase defect has been a matter of controversy among gynaecologists since 1950. A1Ltiouch the possibility of luteal phase dysfunction to be a cause of infertility, was first suggested in 1937 by Rock and Bartlett, but Jones in 1949 admitted the concept of corpus luteum dysfunction, with its possible sequelae of infertility and early fetal westage.
