Abstract
This study reports on the presence and i s o l a t i o n of b i o l o g i c a l l y a c t i v e subs twces Jii the leaves and faits of --C- lerodcndron ineme, Schinus terebinthifolius aid Pi p e r - I_-..---.- ---II - - _ -- -- . -> nig-, on thcir iiisecticidal a c t i v i t y and on t h e i r syner. * - g i s t i c ectivity with some synthetic iiisecticidss on some i n s e c t s . Leaves of -Cle rodel~d-ron -i- -n--e rm-e and Schinus tsrsbh- I -- - -*- -- thifolius , we r e e x t r a t~e d wi th acetone, The acetone solubls Alnatter was 13.48 and 13 -88 % respectively. The acetone extracts showed coaiderable t o x i c i t y t o mosquito larvae. The phy tochclaical exauhations of the powdered leaves of Clerodendron inern-e- & -S--c- hinus terebinthifolius -A+- -- - and the dry f r u i t s of black pepper , -Pi j--e-.r nig;rum-, showed the presence o f sterols ad/ 02 triterpenes, flavonaids, and alkaloids, Free flavonoidal genins and flavonoidd glycosides were i s o l a t e d from thc alcahalic extract of each of Clerodendron inerne C -- ----- ---- and -Sc.hin-us -t--e re-b inthifolius. -A- Thcir percentages were 0.3275 =and 1.63 % r~sp~ctiv~. lCyru de a l k a l o i d s were isolated Pmm
