Abstract t h i s work w a s t o study the e f f e c t of seeding r a t e s and nitrogen l e v e l s on growth, y i e l d and its components, q u a l i t y and hydrocyanic acid content of forage sorghum c u l t i v a r s . Field work and l a b o r a t o r y t e s t s wer c a r r i e d out at Sukha A g r i c u l t u r a l Research S t a t i o n , A g r i c u l t u r a l Research c e n t e r , during 1981, 1982 and 1983 seasons. The experimental design w a s s p l i t - s p l i t p l o t with four r e p l i c a t e s . The main p l o t s were randomly assigned to four sorghum c u l t i v a r s (Sorgo Gl, pioneer 988, Sordan 77, plus NK 367 i n 1981 season and G 83 F i n 1982 and 1983 s e a s o n s ) , the sub p l o t s t o t h e seeding r a t e s (10, 15 and 20 kgs per feddan ), and sub-sub p l o t s t o the n i t r o g e n l e v e l s (20, 40 and 60 Kg nitrogen per cut/feddan). |
