Abstract The effects of water stress and cultivars during different stages on chemical composition , yield and yield components in 1985 and 1986 seasons. The experimental design was split-plot with four replicates. The main plots were randomly assigned to irrigatioon regimes and sub-plots to four rice cultivars. The five irrigation regimes were: a) Submergence during entire season. b) Water stress during the most active tillering stage. c) Water stress during the young panicle formation stage. d) Water stress during the reduction division stage. el Water stress during the early period of ripening stage. Water stress were allowed to develop through withholding water from the plots until about 50% of available soil moisture was depleted after which water was added to the plots. |
