Abstract
the present investigation was conducted i n Research Center for Animal Product ion/Animal of n’utrition/in Hungary. The study included two major p a r t s , the iirst dealt of mineral levels i n h a i r and blood serum as possible indicators for the different uinerals status of adult beef cows red hair dairy hyprid cows red hair dairy Friesian CoiFJs blah hair and growing heifers blzck h a i r which were fed underpractical conditions during the period from september 1985 t o september 1986. Beef ad dziry cows were almost s i m i l a r i n age ad body weight, Samples of h a i r , blood serum ad feedstuffs were taken three times every four months tkiroughout the whole experimental period for chemical analysis, The second part of t h i s study included four runen f i s t u l a t e d Merino wethers with average body weight of 53 kg were used t o determine the effect of dietary levels of Ca and Zn on minerals balance, blood plasma mineral concentrations, rumen fermentation and digestion of diff er e n t n u t r i e n t s i n six metabolism t r i a l s.
