Egypt is suffering from the increase of population rate, and limited cultivated area., which caused widening of food gap .Thus, it is necessaty to expand the agricultural area vertically and horizontally The horizontal agricultural expansion requires a lot of investments for long periods and estimated in five years plan 1987 I 88- 1991 I 92, about 2056 millions of Egyption pounds to reclaim 652.7 Thousand sf feddans. The horizontal agricultural expansion policy has achieved reclamatiorn of 2.27 million of feddans till 1992 in different areas . These areas has been distributed among small scale farmers, university graduates , and those who wishes to invest in agriculture.
