Abstract This experiment was carried out during 1982, 1983 groeing seasons. The objects were to study the effect of pruning severity and fruit thinning of Mit-Gamr peach cultiver. Two rates of pruning;100 and 200 fruiting shoote were maintained per tree. For fruit thinning, NAA, GA3 and CEPA at different rates were applied at hard pit stage. Changes in total carbohydrates, total nitrogen and C/N ratio in the shoots were carried out. Moreover, the effect of the above mentioned treatments on the yield and fruit quality of peaches were included. The obtained results could be summarized in the following points : I- Carbohydrates, nitrogen and C/N ratio : 1- Total carbohydrates, total nitrogen and C/N ratio decreased gradually in peach shoots from one week after hard pit stage till harvest time during boththe seasons of the study. 2- Trees purned to 100 or 200 shoots per tree gave no clear effect on total carbohydrates in the first season, but the content was increased at the end of the second season. |
