Abstract

A Studywas performed to investigate some pathogenic and biological aspects about some streptomyc scabies, isolates obtained from many potato growing localities in A. R. E. of 3 potato varieties i. e ; Alpha, king Edward, and grata. The results may be summarized in the following points :-1-fifteen isolates had proved to be pathogenic on three different potato varaties namely ; Alpha,King Edward, and grata, However, pathogenic severity had proved to very in different isolates and varieties. Isolates ss3 and ss8 had proved to be the highest in pathogenicity while isolates ss1 and ss11 were the lowest in this regard in both in vitro and in vivo tests.2-AQntagonism tests had shown that rhizoctonia solania, Fusarium solania, and Alternaria solani ; had no antagonistic effect on isolates ss3 and ss8.3- studies on carbonsources
utilization had revealed that strains Ss3 cnd Ss8 were, unable to utilize Sodium citrate, Sodium oxalate as well as Paraffin wax. Strain Sa, was unable to utilize Meso-Inisitol, Solicin, D-fructose, and L-Ram1nose while) Ss8 was able to utilize these Carbon sources. Glrcose and D(+) Xylose and Raffinose had proved to be the best Carbon Sources for both strains wich wasevident from the occurence of abundant growth. Both strains had varied 10 their ability to utilize the rest of Carbon sources and these sources had varied in their effect on nicrobial growth.
