Abstract The present investigation was carried out at experimental station. Faculty of agriculture, Mansoura university, during the two successive winter seasons of 1996/1997 and 1997/1998 to study the response of some flax cultivars ( Giza 8 and blanka ) to nitrogen fertilizers levels ( 30, 50 and 70 kgN/fad ), phosphorus and potassium combinations on growth, yield and yield components. A split-split plot design with four replications was used. The main plots were randomly assigned to the following two flax cultivars : 1- Giza 8 2- Blanka The sub plot were occupied by the following three nitrogen fertilizer levels : 1- 30 kgN/fad 2- 50 kgN/fad 3- 70 kgN/fad While, the sub-sub plots included the following seven phosphorus and potassium fertilizer combinations :- 1- 0 kgP2O5 + 0 kgK2o/fad 2- 15.5 kgP2O5 + 0 kgK2o/fad 3- 0 kgP2O5 + 12 kgK2o/fad 4- 15.5 kgP2O5 + 12 kgK2o/fad 5- 31 kgP2O5 + 12 kgK2o/fad 6- 15.5 kgP2O5 + 24 kgK2o/fad 7- 31 kgP2O5 + 24 kgK2o/fad Studied characters : 1- Plant height (cm) 2- Technical length (cm) 3- Stem diameter (mm) 4- Number of fruit branches/plant 5- Number of capsules/plant 6- Number of seeds/capsule 7- 1000 seed weight (gm) 8- Seed yield/plant (gm) 9- Straw yield/plant (gm) 10- Seed yield in kg/fad 11- Straw yield in ton/fad |
