Abstract (1) Incidence and occurrence of Candida species in man and animals have been studied. (2) Samples from the vagina of women, cattles, sheeps and camels, sputum of man, milk of buffaloes; and crop, proventriculus and gizzard of chicken, were collected for isolation and identification of candida species: a. Out of 50 pregnant woman, Candida species were isolated from 19 (38%). These were C.albicans 14 (28%); C.krusei 2(4%); C.stellatoidea, 2(4%), and C.tropicalis 1 (2%). From 50 non-pregnant woman 7 Candida species were isolated. These were C.albicans, 6 (12%), C.krusei 1 (2%). |
