Environmental pollution is a global problem, especially pollution caused by the use of pesticides. Developed countries have been able to achieve a great development in environment protection and decreasing pollution, while developing countries are still trying that. Therefore, the present study aimed to participate in finding solutions for this great problem by rationalization of agricultural pesticides usage. That might be achieved through the following sub-goals: 1-Identification of the professional and communicational characteristics of Agricultural workers and pesticide dealers respondents. 2-Identification of roles of Agricultural workers and pesticide dealers respondents in the field of rationalization of agricultural pesticides and obstacles, which they are faced. 3-Identification of training needs for each of the Agricultural workers and pesticide dealers in the field of rationalization of agricultural pesticides usage. 4-The suggestion of a training program for each of Agricultural workers and pesticide dealers in the field of rationalization of agricultural pesticides usage To achieve of the research aims, this study was applied on: a) 83 pesticide dealers b) 58 Agricultural workers The researcher depended on the method of interview questionnaire for obtaining the personal data from the sample. This study was carried out in three districts in Dakahlia Province and conducted for three months from mid-July 2008 until mid-October 2008. 1-Regarding the subjective assessment of respondents’ training needs, the results revealed that the field of ”diagnosing disease and pests which infect plants” followed by ”the injuries caused by pesticides usage and how to eliminate them” came in the first rank among the studied fields from pesticide dealers point of view. On the other hand, the filed of ”diagnosing diseases and pests which infect plants” come in the first rank followed by ”usage of pesticide alternatives” which came in the second rank among the studied fields from Agricultural workers point of view. 2-Concerning the objective assessment of respondents’ training needs, the field of ”integrated pest management IPM” came in the first rank among the studied fields for the category of pesticide dealers with training needs. On the other side, the field of ”diagnosing diseases and pests which infect plants came in the first rank among the studied fields for the category of Agricultural workers with training needs . Despite the increased number of the organization of people with special needs, the real 3-There were significant differences between both categories in all studied fields except the field of diagnosis of plant diseases/pests in the field of pesticides retionalization.
