Abstract The purpose of this thesis is to study the effects of a magnetic field on the fluid trapping at the center and the flow separation points at the wall through peristaltic motion in an uniform channels and tubes for some non-Newtonian fluids (Power-law fluid - Carreau Fluid – Johnson-Segalman Fluid) in both Cartesian and cylindrical coordinates systems. The study of the mechanism of peristalsis, in both mechanical and physiological situations, has recently become the object of scientific research. In general, the biological systems, which have peristaltic motion are the ureter, male reproductive systems, gastro-intestinal tract, the oesophagus, bile ducts, the fallopian tubes and the small blood vessels. Papers were published from this work in USA. 1) The flow separation through peristaltic motion for power-law fluid in uniform tube. Applied Mathematical Science, 1 (2007), no. 26, 1249-1263, Bulgaria, EU. 2) Hydro-magnetic flow effects in uniform tube through peristaltic motion for generalized Newtonian fluid on trapping.
