Abstract

About fifty per cent or more of cancer patients will disseminated disease to bone,requiring management # Bone metastases are very commonly seen from primary urs in thyroid,lung,kidney,breast and cancer prostate, osclerotic metastases usually arise from cancer prostate sometimes from cancer breast or gastro-intestinal tract. Radiotherapy can control pain and disability caused by metastases in 80 % of patients having different malig-Les» and •• as high as 9^ % of patients have complete , ;h temporary,relief of symptoms,and from the standpoint te patient,s own welfare,his family,and society,radio-ipy offers the most satisfactory method of treating meta-.c bone lesions and the results obtained certainly justify ontinuation,localized radiotion can relieve pain,control rs,with consequent bone reconstruction and prevent fraof weight-bearing bone for most patients without mory of systemic anticancer treatment or any operative proe. Many studies were done to reach the optimal radiation ionation schedule for palliation of pain due to bone.
