Abstract Strabismus among 10,062 primary school children examined in the various primary schools in the eastern district of Mansoura we found 101 cases of manifest concomitant squint. The highest frequency of squint was at the age of seven years (1.35%) and the incidence decreases during the school life to (0.74%) at the age of 12 years. The commonest type of deviation was the convergent type represents 61.3% of all cases. Unilateral deviation were more common 70%, while alternating was (30%). The divergent type constitutes 35.7% of all cases among which 52.7% were and 47.3% were alternating, while the vertical type represents only 3% of all cases of squint. As regards the sex incidence the girls were more affected).5% than the boys 46.5% of all cases of squint found. |
