Abstract

1The results indicated that one parasitoid emerged from the mummified aphid of Brevicoryne brassicae, namely Diaeretiella rapae, Its females developed to adult in several species of aphids such as (B. brassicae, A. craccivora , A. nerii, M. persicae, S. avenae and A. gossypii ). 2 The data revealed that D. rapae accepted all stages of the cabbage aphid B. brassicae, the number adult emerged from third and fourth instars but no adult emerged from first and second instars. 3 The number of aphid parasitised and percentage of parasitism of B. brassicae was significantly different on three cabbage host plants, cauliflower and radish in the absence and or presence of male parasitoid.4The data showed successful conservation freshly formed mummies of D. rapae, for more than two months at 5<U+F0B0> C in the refrigerator. 5 The results of biological studies on the three coccinellid predators assured the possibility of their rearing massively on the natural prey .It is considered the first biological study of the predator E. nigromaculatus.6 The obtained results evaluated the role of the parasitoid D. rapae in controlling B. brassicae under green house and field conditions. The results assured that the effiency of this aphid parasitoid decreased with the highly population density of aphids . It could concluded that when this aphid parasitoid used as biological control agents against B. brassicae, it should be used with low host density that mean in the beginning of aphid infestation. 7 The obtained results revealed that the parasitoid D. rapae could be recommended as biological control agents against this aphid B. brassicae under Egyptian conditions. 8 The results assured the potentiality of coccinellid predatory insects in checking the piercing <U+2013> sucking pests in cabbage crop. The scientific base of that is keeping the ratio of abundance between the beneficial and the piercing <U+2013> sucking pests within the critical ratio (1:10). Thus, the calculate weekly. And of this ratio, the calculated number from suitable of predatory insects has to be introduced. The success of using this approach in the applied necessitate the mass rearing of the predatory insects on natural prey, and preserving the reared insects without affecting their biotic potential until the time of their using. 9 The results showed clearly the possibility of using the coccinellid predatory insect as a biological control agent in an integrated program for controlling piercing <U+2013> sucking pests in cabbage crop .
