Abstract The purpose of the present work was to exploit the characteristic features of furocoumarins and furochromones such as DNA intercalating, photoactive and some of them are widely used in the photochemotherapy of a number of skin diseases such as vitiligo and psoriasis, which can be isolated from: Heracleum sibiricum, Ammi visnaga and Myrrhis odorata. Comparative studies between our work under ?rays and previous work using other conditions e.g. UVlight irradiation toward the following lines: The photooxygenation reaction of some furocoumarins and furochromones under ?rays, which gave the same products as under UV light, in addition of some new products. ثEpoxidation reaction in presence of mCPBA under ?rays gave the published epoxides with good yield, in addition of some new products, such as 1,4dioxofuran derivative whereas, the epoxidation reaction in presence of hydrogen peroxide under ?rays gave new products, such as epoxy of imperatorin, visnagin and khellin. |
