Abstract

This study was dane in gastraenteralagy surgical center, Mansaura University between Feb. 20.01 and Feb. 2002. Farty patients were subjected to. treatment af their gallbladder stanes and camman bile duct (CBD) stanes. This graup afpatients include 8 males (20%) and 32 females (80%) with age ranging fram (20-80) years (Mean= 47.1±13.93). Thase patients were randomized into. two. main graups (A & B). Graup A includes (20) patients In wham we perfarm laparascapic chalecystectamy (LC) and peraperative ERCP. ERCP far clearance afthe CBD fo.llawed ane day later by LC, graup B includes (20) patients. We have failure in 3 cases 15% af group A patients, two. cases due to. bile leak ane afthem due to. bile duct injury. The ather due to. cystic duct leak. These two. cases were managed by surgical explaratian and T -Tube, the third case was due to. merrizi GB with acue chalecystitis and managed also. by surgical explaratian. • No. ERCP camplicatians amang patients af group A. • We have failure afLC in 2 patients afGraup B (10%) . • ERCP camplicati~ns in3 cases first case due to. bleeding papillatamy ather two. cases due to. acute chalecystitis. On follow up of all studied patients missed CBD stone was detected in three cases. • Two. patients in graup A (10%). • One patient in graup B (5%) As regard aperative time there was no. difference in aperative time between bath graups . There is significant difference in haspital stay between graup A (mean 2.26 days) and Graup B patients (mean 4 days). No. martality in aur study.
