Abstract The diabetic patients is susceptible to a series of complications which cause morbidity and premature mortality. While some patients never develop problems and in other they begin early (Foster, 1998). Predictors of diabetic complications include HbA1c (Vigan et al., 1997), ER-SOR (Hatano et al., 1990), fibronectin and collagen IV (Lee et al., 1994). The aim of this study is to determine if the predictors of diabetic complications (HbA1C, ER-SOR, fibronectin and collagen IV) are related to the severity of these complications or the duration ofD.M? The present study comprised 60 patients with D.M, 31 males and 29 females with age ranging from 16 years to 65 years and 10 control non diabetic subjects with age ranging from 25 years to 55 years. These 60 patients with D.M is classified into whole non complicated group which includes 30 patients with D.M with age ranging from 25 to 65 years from which 17 are males and 13 are females, this group is further subclassified into non complicated IDDM and non complicated NIDDM group each of them includes 15 patients. And whole complicated group which includes 30 patients ofD.M with age ranging from 16 years to 65 years 14 are males and 16 females, this group is also subclassified into complicated IDDM and complicated NIDDM group each of them includes 15 patients. Whole complicated group was divided into patients with one complication ( 17 cases), patients with two complications (8 cases) and patients with three complications. |
